Sometimes you want the warmth of authentic knitwear with a more open silhouette. The Cancale V-neck offers exactly that—retaining the legendary durability of our iconic 1x1 rib wool knit, but framing the face with a breathable V-neckline.

It keeps the classic nautical shoulder opening on the left, but adds a unique, sustainable twist: the buttons are crafted from recycled mussel shells. Designed with a timeless straight cut and sturdy ribbed trims to hold its shape, this is heritage style with a distinct personality.

How to take care of Saint James cotton clothes?

Cotton is a formidable textile, which is easier to care for than wool. Wash only when necessary to preserve the fibers and color intensity. While cotton is durable, proper care extends its life.

Saint James cotton clothes can be washed at 90°F (especially if your garment has high-contrast stripes to prevent color bleeding) with a moderate spin speed. Use a gentle liquid detergent. If you use fabric softener, use sparingly.

Important for striped shirts: If your garment has high-contrast stripes (like our classic Breton shirts), wash at 85°F (30°C) to prevent color bleeding.

It is normal and expected: cotton may shrink a bit (1/2" on average) after the first wash cycle. Please make sure not to tumble dry your garment to avoid any further shrinkage.

Do not expose your cotton pieces to direct sunlight.

You can line-dry your cotton clothes: be careful, as with all your clothes, to position the clothespins correctly, not to leave visible marks.

If you are going to iron your cotton piece, do it on the reverse side and set your iron to a medium temperature.
