My favorite sweater of all time.
I love this sweater. I bought the “same” one about 15 years ago in France and have worn it literally hundreds of times. It is still in perfect condition EXCEPT that a few moths have nibbled small holes into it over the years and even though I have carefully patched them, I was thrilled when I saw that Saint James was offering a similar sweater this year. The only real difference is the buttons. This year’s version is as interesting as was the version I purchased in Strasbourg, France in 2011. I am keeping the new one sealed away from inquisitive moths when I’m not wearing it. Oh! I forgot to mention that I can wash this on “wool” in the washing machine, lay flat to dry, and it never needs those horrible dry cleaning chemicals which I hate. The only regret I have is that I ordered it in a size 12 here in the States. I believe my original sweater was more like a size 10. Saint James should show the comparative sizes when listing the product for their various markets as that would have helped me to get the smaller size which I would have preferred. Since I hate the process of returning things, I’ll simply keep the slightly larger version which is also just fine.
